    Effective Time Management

    effective-time-management

Time management is something we all struggle with. Juggling work and family commitments while trying to steal pockets of time each day to exercise and indulge in our favorite hobbies can sometimes feel like an impossible balancing act. However, by taking a little time to plan your schedule, you'll find that you get through your to-do lists far more efficiently. Here are three quick tips.

    1. Goal-setting

Got a daunting task ahead, like an important presentation or a long report? Split the assignment up into smaller chunks, and set yourself strict deadlines for each "phase" of the assignment. When you break one huge task up into smaller milestones, they feel more achievable, and in turn you'll feel more motivated and less stressed. Chances are, you won't just get the work done faster, but will turn out a better work product as well!

    2. Eliminate distractions

Whether it is mobile apps, Youtube, or Facebook, it's fairly certain that technology has had severe drawbacks on our attention span. Good time management means making the most of the time you have. You can't do good work or spend quality time with your family if you're aimlessly scrolling through your Instagram feed. Put down that smartphone, and focus on whatever you're doing at that moment!

    3. Take short breaks

It seems counterintuitive to say that taking breaks makes you more efficient. However, time management means working smarter — not necessarily harder, or longer. By taking a short break whenever you feel your attention wavering or your productivity dropping, you can recharge your batteries and refocus your mind. Even five minutes spent looking out the windows to rest your eyes, or doing some stretching, can work wonders.
