Cigna Healthcare Hong Kong Takes Cigna VHIS Series – Flexi Plan (Superior) to the Next Level with Upgraded Offerings for New and Existing Customers

HONG KONG, 3 July 2023 – Cigna Healthcare Hong Kong today announced the launch of its upgraded Cigna Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS) Series - Flexi Plan (Superior), which provides new cover for accidental emergency dental and outpatient treatment benefits, giving customers greater protection not only for inpatient setting but also for acute outpatient treatment for accidental emergency situations to meet their evolving needs.

Cigna Healthcare Hong Kong’s VHIS Series has been designed to provide customers with enhanced medical protection at an affordable premium since it was first launched in 2019. It has been widely acclaimed and recognized as customers’ preferred choice in the market. In particular, the Flexi Plan (Superior) has been accredited by 10Life and was awarded a 10/10 Coverage Score and 5 Star Rating earlier this year.

While the original Flexi Plan (Superior) has been well received by customers, the new upgrades are specially designed to offer greater protection and more extensive coverage to meet people’s evolving medical needs and enhance their customer experience. Enhanced benefits and key features of the upgraded Flexi Plan (Superior) include:

1. Removal of maximum number of days per policy year limit of key inpatient benefits
   The maximum number of days per policy limit will be removed for key inpatient benefits, including room and board, attending doctor’s visit fee and intensive care.
2. New companion bed benefit
   Expenses charged for an extra bed for an individual who accompanies the insured person in hospital during his/her confinement will be covered with no dollar limit.
3. New accidental emergency outpatient treatment benefit
   If the insured person undergoes emergency treatment of an injury in the outpatient department of a hospital, eligible expenses charged on such emergency treatment within 24 hours after the accident resulting in such injury will be covered with no dollar limit.
4. New accidental emergency dental treatment benefit
   If the insured person undergoes emergency treatment which is necessitated by an injury to sound natural teeth (including consultation, staunch bleeding, tooth extraction, root canals and x-ray) in a legally registered dental clinic or a hospital, expenses charged by a registered dentist, a registered medical practitioner or a hospital on such emergency treatment within 2 weeks after the accident resulting in such injury will be covered with no dollar limit.

Similar new benefits will also apply to Cigna VHIS Series - Flexi Plan (SMM). To celebrate Cigna Healthcare Hong Kong’s 90th anniversary, we will be launching a series of promotions.
