Routine is boring, and routine is killing. However, it happens to each one of us. What you need now is a change. A change which could encourage you to get out of your comfort zone, while learning new skills can be an exciting challenge.

Here are some tips about how you can refresh your mind and your body.

Dive into something new!

It’s never too late to learn something new. Always want to try salsa dancing? Or deep sea diving? What’s stopping you? When you learn something new, it boosts your self-esteem too, which beats stress.1

What if you don’t crave for a new skill? No problem. Just revive your previous passion. If you played football in your college days, try getting back to it again.

Change your route

The daily work journey might make Mondays seem even harder. Taking a longer walk with scenery or replacing car with bikes could be a good alternative to keep you fit and save your money.

Sweat it out, but take a different approach this time

When you work out, your body builds its stamina and you will see some benefits with regular exercises. However, if you keep the same regimen, you will stop gaining more benefits. With different activities, you can keep earning more benefits without getting bored.

If you work out in a gym, try changing the equipment. You may switch from a regular 30-min treadmill to a 10-minute workout on the rolling machine, or from kickboxing to yoga. This will change your mood and improve your skill in another activity. If you don’t want to change the workout, you can change:

  • The location of the workout
  • The time of the day you exercise
  • The intensity – crank it up
  • The duration – go for a longer workout

Increase your endurance with interval training. Short bursts of intense training mixed with periods of low-intensity training.

Keep the change on

Besides workout routine, make some changes in your lifestyle as well. Are you sticking to the same sandwich for lunch every day? You may try a salad or anything new! A diet with variety of nutritious food ensures your absorption of all nutrients you need.

Mundaneness ruins your mood and builds stress. Find something different that you can enjoy and you’ll find excitement returning to your life.
