What’s the number one reason for not exercising? Many people say it’s the lack of time. But what if exercising doubles as an exciting way to catch up with friends and family and to meet new people?
There are countless advantages of group activities and workouts. When you train in a group, you are more motivated and want to go an extra mile towards your fitness goals.
Here are some ways you can exercise with others.
Speed dating
You might think it’s funny but it’s actually a very cool idea. There are gyms that are initiating speed dating programs. You’ll be given a partner for fitness routines. Try exercising with them and see if you two can get along for a real date.
Parkour
Parkour is getting increasingly popular among youngsters. It’s an artful and creative sport of utilizing the human body to move from Point A to Point B in the most efficient way possible. You have to get over walls, steps, and ledges with a combination of acrobatics. It builds your flexibility, stamina, and strength. However, it can lead to injury if done without guidance so make sure you join a good class.
Krav Maga
An Israeli form of military self-defense, Krav Maga is designed for protection, but it is also a powerful workout that includes strength building, flexibility, and cardio exercises. There are classes available in Hong Kong too.
Kangoo jumping
Welcome back to your childhood fantasy where you can jump high with the help of giant springs under your boots. These boots let you jump easily while reducing the impact by 80%1, which makes them ideal for people with back or knee injuries. It is said that 20 minutes of Kangoo jumping gives the same results as 40 minutes of aerobic activity.
Kettlebells
Kettlebells are great for increasing balance, endurance, and strength. Since they are more demanding than regular weights, you will need a trainer to perfect the routine.
All these classes can help you achieve your fitness goals without getting bored. However, if attending classes isn’t your thing, here are some other activities you can do with friends.
Ice-skating
There are several indoor skating rinks in Hong Kong. You can learn and enjoy skating with your friends there.
Bowling
You can enjoy bowling with friends or even join a bowling league.
There are so many fun ways to get fit. And if you have kids, you can always take them to an indoor wall climbing area or an adventure park. Remember to get at least 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week for optimal health benefits.2
