In this day and age, people are more aware of the importance of regular exercise. Exercise newbies often opt for running to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Running does not require much special gear or a specific environment. Pretty much wherever you are, all you need to get started is … run!
Establishing a running habit
For those who are new to running, you should adjust your running distance, duration, and pace according to your own energy levels and abilities. Hone your endurance and up your game over time as you gain more experience. That way, you can slowly introduce and incorporate running into your daily routine.
Watch the video to find out practical tips on making running a habit from Healthy Wong, founder of FOODSPORT.
What is FOODSPORT?
Established in 2013, FOODSPORT is a social enterprise that organizes sports events regularly. The aim is to encourage participants to establish a healthy lifestyle while helping the needy at the same time — the amount of calories burnt by participants during the events are converted into food units and the corresponding amount of food is then donated to those who are in need.
Healthy Wong, founder of FOODSPORT, explained that sports have always been his passion and he would love to inspire others to join him in leading a healthy lifestyle and extending a helping hand to the underprivileged at the same time.
Hopefully the FOODSPORT concept can reach every corner of the world and that everyone can do their part for the needy, Wong said.
Over the past two years, FOODSPORT has been organizing multiple events in partnership with Cigna.
“I’m pleased to see how Cigna supports its employees in finding work-life balance while encouraging them to contribute to society as well. It sets a great example for other corporates. FOODSPORT looks forward to joining forces with more corporates to help those in need, Wong added.
